Owner

Carl Russell

Carl graduated from Texas A&M in 1975 and arrived in Austin by way of Houston and Saudi Arabia in 1986 with his wife and two sons. He has been in the painting industry for 34 years and started Russell & Traugott Painting in conjunction with Michael Traugott in 2004.

He has recently completed the project management of the $2 million TFC North Austin Complex project with Vaughn Construction and is looking forward to working with Hooker Contracting on another HOLT CAT project up in Georgetown, Texas.

Carl is excited about starting Russell & Traugott Painting & Decorating 17th year here in Austin Texas!

Superintendent

Larry K. Marley

Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Larry started out working as a welder until his doctor informed him that he would damage his eyes long term if he continued in that line of work. So, his brother-in-law talked him into joining a painter’s union where he began his apprenticeship at the age of 19. He has been in the painting industry ever since, giving him 40 years of experience in the field. One of his most notable projects he has worked on was a new build of an AMD Campus that amounted to 2.1 million dollars.

When Larry isn’t working, he enjoys spending time with family including his wife, daughters and grandchildren. He also enjoys restoring old trucks and attending car shows.

Larry is coming up on 3 years with Russell & Traugott Painting and is continuing to work on creating good relationships with our clients.

Manager

Cissy Carruthers

WHS graduate of 2003. After high school Cissy worked in daycares and Rocky River Ranch. She went on to manage Shamrock in Wimberley and other chain convenient stores.

Since 2012, Cissy has worked for R&T as an office manager with light project management duties and bookkeeping.

Estimator / Project Manager

Sherwood Webb

Began his commercial painting career in 2007 as a painter for R&T. In 2010 he was promoted to a foreman and began running his own crew. Some of his projects include UT Baseball Fields, Seton Hospital Renovations, St. Davids Hospital Remodel, ACC Science Labs, and GISD Tippit Middle School.

2020 Began his training as an estimator. Some of his projects include, Pluckers, Griffis at the Domain, Austin Stone South Campus, and New Life Austin Church.
